The cloud platform should support a webmail service and a storage service, and it should be based on a distributed key-value store. You will need the project handout, and you should maintain your code in a shared GitHub repository that we will create for each team. You do not need to use the VM for the project.

Homework
Grace Period
We strongly recommend that you start working on each assignment as soon as it becomes available. That way, if you encounter an unexpected problem that you cannot resolve by yourself, you will have enough time to post a question on Ed Discussion, or to come to office hours. However, we do realize that things do not always go as planned. Therefore, you automatically receive three “jokers” at the beginning of the semester, each of which can be used to extend the deadline by one day (24 hours). You do not need to explicitly request for using jokers for extending your homework deadlines. Instead, at the end of the semester, we will apply your available jokers to the late submissions in such a way that you will have the highest total score for the homework assignments.
Once you have spent your jokers, you cannot get further extensions for any reason, and each late day (including partial day) will lower your score by 20%. Therefore, we recommend that you try to save your jokers for emergencies and/or the inevitable time crunch at the end of the semester. The best way to save your jokers is to start early.
To reward your early effort, we will grant an extra joker if you submit a solution at least two days (48 hours) before the deadline. Note that, if you submit an assignment multiple times, the latest submission and its timestamp will be used. The awarded jokers can only be applied to latter homework assignments. (Awarded jokers will be given only to early submissions of the “real” homework assignments, not HW0.) Any unused jokers will be forfeited (i.e., they do not translate into grades or apply to the team project). Please note that the deadline is 10pm (not midnight) of the due date
